What grades attend Mill Creek East? Do you have a preschool at East Elementary School?
East Elementary houses students in preschool through grade 5. We have a special developmental preschool. The purpose of our preschool is to offer extra support and interventions for students who have been evaluated by our school psychologist and qualify as having a developmental delay. We believe students who qualify should also have positive peer models in the classroom. For this reason, we do invite strong students to our preschool program too. There is typically a waiting list to be considered a peer friend. For more information about our preschool program, you may contact our preschool teacher, Mrs. Hall, at [email protected]
Do you have a before or after school child care program at your school?
Yes! Our school partners with the Mill Creek Plus Program to offer before and after child care for children who are 5-12 years of age. Child care is available from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school year. Full-time care from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. is also available during school breaks. Students play games in our gymnasium, make crafts, and participate in other fun activities. Feel free to call the Mill Creek Plus program director, Casey Purvis, for pricing and other information at 317-539-9240 or 317-539-6623.
What do I need to know to register my child for kindergarten?
Each spring we hold a special day for parents like you! Between January and March, a link to a digital form is posted on our website and shared on our social media pages, Facebook and Twitter. (If you can't find the link, just give us a call! Once parents fill out the form, we can plan for their visit! Morning, afternoon, and evening informational sessions are held. You and your child will get to come to school! You get to meet our staff, listen to a presentation, take a tour of our building, and get all your kindergarten questions answered. Your child will get the opportunity to meet the teachers, make new friends, play, and get excited about kindergarten!
